The Green Bay Packers faced off against the Minnesota Vikings in what was an understandably frustrating game. Although Jordan Love returned from an MCL sprain, it was evident that he was not operating at full capacity.

He threw three interceptions and struggled to put his full weight on his injured left knee, which hindered his ability to transfer weight effectively and deliver passes as he typically would.
However, this game should not fall solely on Love, as the defense performed poorly in the first half, appearing vulnerable to both aerial and ground attacks. Sam Darnold threw for three touchdowns and 275 yards, while Aaron Jones, in his homecoming performance, rushed 22 times for 93 yards. It was apparent that the absence of Jaire Alexander negatively impacted the defense, as both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison frequently found themselves open. When they were covered, it often involved double coverage, leaving other players like Jones (who recorded 46 receiving yards) and Jalen Nailor—who made a notable 31-yard gain—wide open.
Towards the end of the second quarter, a glimmer of hope emerged as the Packers scored, entering halftime with a score of 28 to 7. The second half brought a reversal in momentum: two turnovers by the Vikings and solid defensive efforts from the Packers limited Minnesota to just three points. Love and the offense appeared to make necessary adjustments during halftime, displaying renewed energy. They began executing well, completing significant passes and narrowing the score to a mere six points.
A pivotal moment in the game came with a crucial strip sack that led to points, allowing the Packers to draw closer from a once daunting 28-point deficit. Despite a thrilling and nerve-wracking second half, the Packers ultimately lost by two points and were unable to recover a last-minute onside kick that could have provided another opportunity to score. Even if they had succeeded in recovering the onside kick, I would remain cautious about our chances, as Brayden Narveson missed two field goal attempts earlier in the game—one of which would have been invaluable. If either of those attempts had been successful, the outcome could have been dramatically different given the momentum we carried into the second half.
It’s now time for the team to rest and prepare for their upcoming matchup against the Rams. As always, Go Pack Go! I would rate this game a total of 12 bad beers.
