Playoff Implications for Week 16

The Green Bay Packers can clinch a playoff spot Monday Night with a win against the 5-9 Saints at Lambeau Field. There are a couple ways they can clinch a spot before end of day Sunday.

If the Falcons lose or tie to the Giants AND the Rams lose or tie to the Jets, the Packers will have a playoff spot on lock.

The other way is: If the Falcons lose or tie to the Giants AND the Seahawks lose or tie to the Vikings then a playoff spot will be reserved for the Packers.

The Falcons play the Giants and the Rams play the Jets at 12:00pm CST and the Seahawks play the Vikings at 3:05pm CST in Seattle.

While the Packers would prefer the Vikings to lose, for a chance at a higher seeding, a Vikings win could help the Packers get into the playoffs without having to play their first snap of week 16. No matter what happens the Packers have a solid chance of making the playoffs, but will take every bit of help that they can get.
