Week 14 saw the Green Bay Packers travel to Detroit for their second matchup of the season against the Lions. Having lost the first encounter 24-14, the Packers showed improvement but ultimately fell short, losing 34-31 on a last-second field goal.
The Packers' offense and defense started sluggishly, conceding 17 points in the first half while managing only one touchdown. Despite the defense limiting the Lions' rushing attack, they allowed enough yardage and explosive plays to result in 34 total points.
In the second half, the Packers mounted a spirited comeback, scoring 24 points. This surge included a 12-yard touchdown pass to Tucker Kraft, two rushing touchdowns of 6 and 4 yards by Josh Jacobs, and a 32-yard field goal by Brandon McManus. The offense found its rhythm, exchanging leads with the Lions and eventually tying the game at 31 with 3:38 remaining.
However, the defense couldn’t secure critical stops as the clock wound down, allowing the Lions to position themselves for the game-winning field goal.
Despite the loss, the Packers delivered a competitive performance and now head into a mini bye week to prepare for a crucial Sunday Night Football showdown against the Seahawks in Seattle.
